To thread beads on to lurex or thickish yarn - take a fine needle and thread with about 6ins sewing thread. Knot the two ends together to form a loop. Take the thread you want to use for the beads and slip the end through the loop for about 6ins. Thread on a bead and pull onto the beading yarn (if it won't go, then your yarn is too thick).
For seed beads, pour a few on to your hand and pick up from there. For bigger beads pick up individually.
Beads have a mind of their own! To prevent escaping, thread over a terry towel on your knee or on a table.
